Crafted by Truth

As part of Here We Stand, a celebratory campaign honoring the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod’s Michigan District invites students of all ages to participate in an authentic Reformation experience titled Crafted By Truth!

This experience combines Luther’s focus on Scripture alone with Gutenberg’s expansion of laypeople’s access to the Word through the latest technology.  The goal of Crafted by Truth is to excite, equip, and enable students of all ages across the District to read through the entire Bible between October 2016 and October 2017. The experience will culminate with and be celebrated at the District-wide Reformation Service at Michigan State University’s Breslin Center on Sunday, October 15, 2017.

The Crafted by Truth Reformation Reading Plan is now live on YouVersion, a popular Bible reading app.  (While the official kick-off date of the plan is Sunday, October 16, you can start using it at any time!)  Readers can access the plan on computers, tablets and smartphones, receiving daily reading selections. The plan provides the books of the Bible in the order that they impacted Luther’s rediscovery of the Gospel. Readers will be challenged to read the entire Bible, but they may also choose to read just the New Testament. Nearly 1200 people are already involved!  Here's how to connect with the reading plan:

The Michigan District is supporting this effort through Crafted Daily, a Facebook discussion group hosted by Concordia University Ann Arbor.  You can join this Facebook group here
