Divine Service: The 2nd Sunday after Pentecost

Our summer Sunday schedule starts on June 3, with Sunday School & Bible Class at 8:45 am and worship at 10 am. Worship will also be held on Monday, June 4 at 7 pm. Our guest preacher on Sunday will be Rev. Roger James, currently serving as missionary & theological educator for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in South Asia.

"The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." God gave His people the Sabbath as a time of rest to remember the great things He has done for us. (Deuteronomy 5:12-15) The Pharisees of Jesus' time turned that gift into works-righteousness, as the Savior masterfully revealed. (Mark 2:23-3:6) In receiving Word & Sacrament, we find Jesus Christ, our true Sabbath rest. The devil's assaults on the jars of clay that we are cannot take that rest from us, for the power belongs to God! (2 Corinthians 4:5-12)
