Prayer of the Season:

Almighty and everlasting God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, since you have given us grace to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity by the confession of a true faith, and to worship the true Unity in the power of your divine majesty, keep us also steadfast in this true faith and worship, and defend us ever from all our adversaries; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, Amen.

Junior Confirmation Classes

Jr. Confirmation's goal is that those who have gone through instruction in Luther's Small Catechism would grow to have a firm faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Faith is the goal of this instruction, a faith based on the truths revealed in the Holy Scripture. We want our children to know not what human wisdom teaches but that which the Holy Spirit teaches.

Jr. Confirmation Class consists of students in the 7th & 8th grades. Catechumens go through a two year period of instruction in Luther's Small Catechism utilizing the PathLight instructional materials. After satisfactorily completing the instruction students may become communing members of the congregation.

Memorization is an important part of instruction in Jr. Confirmation. Over and over again the Bible speaks of knowing Scripture, having it in one's heart. Memorization of texts of Scripture and the Six Chief Parts of The Small Catechism provides the framework and basic building blocks of faith. Confirmation for second year students is the first Sunday in May.
