Before kings, authorities & leaders, we are not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought. Rather, we should posture ourselves to be humble servants, ready to hope for & receive gestures of grace, hospitality & wisdom. Divine love permeates actions; divine speech evokes truth; divine contentment curbs the propensity toward greed & envy. Divine forgiveness destroys sin’s consequence. Without merit, we receive the grace of Christ — grace that invites us to his feast of forgiveness. (Psalm 75:1-2, 6-7, 9; Proverbs 25:2-10; Hebrews 13:1-17; Luke 14:1-14)
