Our Bible Studies:

  • Bible Class meets on Sundays at 9:00 am. We’re currently studying Christ Is Risen Indeed, the official Bible study of this summer’s Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod convention. This study explores the convention’s theme based on 1 Corinthians 15:20–22:

    “But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.”

  • This women's summer reading group will read Parents and Children by Charlotte Mason beginning Sunday, June 7th, and will be using the Band app for disussion to provide a feast of beautiful things for our minds to dwell on and provide a place for community to grow while we are all off traveling this summer!

    In addition to discussion of the book, feel free to share poems, art, quotes, and music you love! And share pictures from your travels, nature scenes, or quotes from your own reading!

    Commenting and participation is entirely up to you, but I hope you enjoy reading, seeing, and listening to some fine things as we read the book.

  • Monday through Friday, June 22 through 25 from 9:00 to 11:45 am

    Kids age 4 as of August 1 through 6th grade are invited to join us for Bible stories, music, crafts, snacks, activities and more! Nearly 50 kids are already signed up! Parents and caregivers are encouraged to preregister at www.vbsmate.com/messiahgr2026

    Our theme isTropical Trek, where kids explore God’s Word (the Bible) and discover how God finds and helps us in every situation we encounter in life. 

    We have a great VBS team in place but would love to have more volunteers; if you’re interested, please contact Steve Dengler. It’s a great way to start the summer! Note thatVBS Staff Training is scheduled for Saturday, June 13 from 9:00 to 11:00 am.

  • The West Michigan Confessional Study Group meets on the first Thursday of each month at 10:00 am. Pastors and laypeople of the greater Grand Rapids area pray together (using the order of service Matins), study the Lutheran Confessions together, and fellowship together over lunch!

Sunday School, LifeLight (we will be studying Hebrews!), and CARES will return this fall! In the meantime, we hope everyone has a wonderful, safe, relaxing summer!
